Without Face

It is Mother's Day, but it is so much more than just "Mother's Day".
For those who are not even mothers, today is a day filled with strength, encouragement, love, and resiliency that quite possibly our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and mentoring women all around taught us.
Our own mothers represent the faceless wonders of each diverse nation. Many times, it is our mothers who quietly enrich the world around them with every tear wiped away from each face, each bandage placed on a scraped knee, each mother in the crowd cheering, each mother with their hand on a child's shoulder as they gently cry along too, because sometimes words cannot fix pain but just knowing you share their pain harbors more healing
(Mama, thank you for your hand on my shoulder and the tears we shared together for all those times and times to come).
We are sisters of unique backgrounds, but together our commonality is our super power of being faceless.
Together we make: faceless educators, researchers, nurses, public speakers, engineers, CEO's, caretakers, scientists, welders, students, pilots, housewives, managers, financial advisers, architects, artists, dancers, graphic designers, doctors, innovators, reporters, producers... and the list simply never ends of our super powers.
Let our super powers combine to make change.
Let us embrace differences and educate one another about these differences so we can better understand the hardships we may each endure.
Let us raise one another up, rather than tear one another down so we can sow seeds of trust and kindness in the palms and souls of one another for each generation beyond our grasp.
Let us stand together, shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand, as sisters.
Sisters: nameless and faceless, but beyond needed like a heart that bleeds vital blood.
The idea of faceless and nameless is wonderful as it allows each and every one of us to create our own name, our our own face before the world takes its' hand and grasps at the chance to name you.
Be unique.
Name yourself.
Draft your own face, beautiful sister.
Be radiant always,
Sydney
